Last weekend my sister came to visit, we did some typical touristy things; hit up oxford st, went for a v tasty meal at Dishoom (no where similar in the west midlands), and saw some sites. I had such an amazing time with my sister, she’s literally one of my favourite people in the entire world and it had been so long since we’d seen each other. Since she’s at uni now and I’ve moved out the times we visit home often clash which is very upsetting.
It was so good to have some sister time and relax, feel at ease and just chat away about everything and anything.
Yesterday I spent the day with some new friends, drinking prosecco, eating strawberries and relaxing in the park. Oh it was so glorious! (Honestly this summer has started off so good the weather couldn’t be better right now, what a dream.) Its so nice to meet people and instantly feel like you’ve got a new friend and be in your life for a long time.
I also live with my two best friends which is pretty sick, knowing they are there to talk to, to each with or literally just being down the hall in another room is such a great feeling. Knowing my sisters and mom are just a phone-call or train journey away is so great too, I know I can always rely on them and if I needed they’d be on the next train down in a heartbeat.
The past few weeks have made it even clearer to me how important the women in your life are. I’ve managed to surround myself with some pretty cool gals. The ones that will help you out whenever you need, girls that will lift you up, fill you with love and happiness. They are the kind of people everyone needs in their life, I feel pretty damn lucky to know I’ve got these ladies.
I hope everyone gets to know the feeling of having people that bring happiness and light into your life. Surround yourself with good and you’ll feel good.
Thanks for popping by, abitofpeace x
